Presenting state awards to coaches and specialists who trained athletes for the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang

August 10, 2018, The Kremlin, Moscow

Presidential Aide Igor Levitin presented state awards and incentive packages to coaches and specialists for successfully preparing the Russian athletes who achieved excellent results at the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

The award ceremony was held in the St Catherine Hall of the Kremlin in the run-up to Sports and Fitness Day.

According to Igor Levitin, despite obvious difficulties, Russia’s athletes underwent stresses and trials with dignity. Their victories were a source of great joy for sports fans. The Presidential Aide pointed out that mentors, specialists, and all those who worked to achieve the final result and directly helped the athletes prepare for the competitions, and conducted organisational and technical work – perhaps not all that high-profile, but nonetheless important for the common cause – made a great contribution to the final result.

Mr Levitin expressed confidence that the Russian specialists would continue to make use of their experience and talent to benefit Russian sport and to ensure new achievements and the success of their trainees.
