St Petersburg is to host meeting of International Automobile Federation General Assembly

Presidential Aide Igor Levitin chaired a meeting on organising and hosting a General Assembly meeting and the awards ceremony of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) in St Petersburg on December 2–7, 2018.

Acting Governor of St Petersburg Alexander Beglov has confirmed the city’s readiness to support and help organise the event.

President of the Russian Automobile Federation Viktor Kiryanov said that it is the first time this international event will be held in Russia and that it is very important for the country’s sports community.

The FIA is a governing body for world motor sport and has been working to make the motor sport environment safer around the world.

The FIA holds the Annual General Assembly week every year in early December. Its concluding events are a meeting of the General Assembly and the award presentation ceremony for world motorsport champions.

The traditional closing event of the Annual General Assembly week, the FIA Awards Gala will be held on December 7, 2018, in the Grand Hall of the St Petersburg Shostakovich Academic Philharmonic. It will be attended by about a thousand guests, including senior FIA officials, presidents of automobile clubs, renowned champions and the leaders of legendary teams.
