In conjunction with Head of the State Council working group for agriculture and Altai Territory Governor Viktor Tomenko, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin held a meeting of the working group, which considered state agricultural policy.
Representatives of the Russian regions and stakeholders from federal executive and legislative bodies, as well as research and expert panels, took part in the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut presented the concept and outlay of the report that is being prepared for the State Council meeting. The report will be used to analyse the implementation of the state agrarian policy and the effectiveness of existing state support instruments both as part of the State Programme for Promoting Agriculture and the Sustainable Rural Area Development Programme, which is part of that programme, as well as within the framework of state programmes in education, healthcare, culture and tourism, physical fitness and sports, housing and utilities, social support, transport, communications, economic development, employment, environmental protection, nature management, and forestry.
The drafting group will prepare the consolidated draft report for discussion at the next meeting of the working group.
