Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the working group to prepare a State Council meeting on Russian regions’ tasks in general education.
During the expanded joint meeting of the State Council Presidium and the Council for Science and Education held on February 6, the President gave an instruction to prepare a State Council meeting on this topic.
The meeting of the working group was attended by Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, Kirov Region Governor Igor Vasilyev, Adviser to the President Alexandra Levitskaya, representatives of the Federal Assembly chambers, the Accounts Chamber, specialised federal and regional executive bodies, industry associations of entrepreneurs, and scientific and expert organisations.
Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov spoke about the main challenges and tasks facing the general education system.
Kirov Region Governor Igor Vasilyev, who heads the working group, informed the meeting about the goals and tasks of the working group participants in preparing the report and presented a draft structure of the report.
The report will address issues related to preschool education, the general education content, the “school of the future,” extracurricular education, children’s education, human resources and the development of general education infrastructure.
Following the discussion, the meeting participants set the deadlines for the work and agreed on common approaches to drafting the report.
