Co-financing of non-profit organisations at regional level will continue in 2022

November 9, 2021

First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko held a meeting of the Coordinating Committee for organising Presidential Grant competitions for developments in civil society. The meeting participants discussed the co-funding of regional competitions for non-profit organisations by the Presidential Grant Foundation, and summarised the results of the socially important projects that the foundation had directly supported and that had been completed before the end of 2020.

Co-funding in the form of Presidential Grants for socially oriented non-profit organisations that receive support from regional officials on a competitive basis was first launched in January 2021. The Presidential Grant Foundation has allocated 1.6 billion rubles this year.

During the meeting, the Coordinating Committee determined the terms and procedure for providing co-funding in 2022.

The Coordinating Committee also reviewed a performance report on the projects that had been supported by the Presidential Grant Foundation based on its main competitions and that were completed in 2019–2020. The top 100 projects were selected.

Based on the 11 competitions held by the foundation between April 2017 and June 2021, as many as 20,021 socially important projects received Presidential Grants worth a total of 41.2 billion rubles.

Projects submitted for the next contest are currently undergoing an independent expert review. Non-profit organisations have presented 10,484 initiatives for consideration. The Coordinating Committee plans to announce winners in January 2022.
