The Sotnik Mikhail Chaika Brinkovsky Cossack Cadet Corps of the Krasnodar Territory won the Best Cossack Cadet Corps contest in 2022. Second and third places were taken by the Belokalitvinsky Matvei Platov Cossack Cadet Corps of the Rostov Region and the Gorozhansky Cossack Cadet Corps of the Voronezh Region, respectively.
Twenty-three education institutions from different regions of the country competed for the title of best Cossack cadet corps. The students demonstrated their knowledge and skills including a written test on the history of the Great Patriotic War, the basics of military duty and military service.
Representatives of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs, the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Southern Federal District, the Ministry of Education, the Government of the Astrakhan Region, Russian Cossack Society, and the Russian Orthodox Church took part in the awards ceremony at the Astrakhan Kremlin. For the first time, cadets from the General Matvei Platov Alchevsky Cossack Cadet Corps in the Lugansk People's Republic attended the event.
Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Council for Cossack Affairs Dmitry Mironov sent congratulations to the winners, in which he stressed that supporting high-quality Cossack cadet education is one of the priorities of the council’s activities. Today, Cossack cadet corps enjoy well-deserved prestige due to the high quality of training and student education in accordance with the centuries-old traditions of Russian Cossack service to our Motherland – Russia, the message says.
