Head of the Working Group Oleg Kozhemyako reported on the preparation of a report for a meeting of the State Council Presidium.

Zarina Doguzova spoke about challenges in implementing measures to develop domestic and inbound tourism at the federal and regional levels. The matters at hand include an insufficient development of support infrastructure, the need to raise service standards, high domestic travel fares, the need to lower taxes for businesses working in the industry, shortcomings in the legal framework, the need to spread the low-interest lending programme to hotel infrastructure construction and renovation projects, and inadequate promotion of the domestic tourism and recreation centres.

Nikita Anisimov focused on the budget and economic multiplier effect in tourism and the importance of further improving the system of state governance in the tourism sector and tourism activities.

The proposals voiced during the meeting will be taken into account by the group, which will draft a report for submission to the President at a meeting of the State Council Presidium.
