At the initiative of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, on August 12–September 1, the Okean National Children’s Centre hosts a thematic session for 240 children from various Russian regions who are members of children’s public councils. Maria Lvova-Belova met with forum participants as part of her working trip to the Primorye Territory.

The Commissioner familiarized herself with the centre’s activities: she visited the rooms where Okean members live, the pottery, weaving and blini cooking studios and also took part in various workshops, team games and trainings together with children.
Participants in the children’s public councils presented projects on the topic of Protection of my Rights in various areas such as security, anti-bullying, patriotism, the cultural education of youth, and the production of positive content for children.
Maria Lvova-Belova highly praised the work of the teams, and 16 projects will receive comprehensive support from the rights protection institution.
Children's public councils under the regional commissioners for children's rights are consultative and advisory bodies that allow children to be involved in the discussion of issues that concern their interests.
