The Supervisory Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation held its regular meeting.
As Chair of the Supervisory Board, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko noted in his speech, veterans of the special military operation and their families highlight the effectiveness of the foundation’s work.
“Today, the assessment and trust of veterans of the special military operation in the organisation are particularly important. All of them, having repeatedly contacted the foundation, note not only advisory and information assistance but also support in all matters. Veterans are achieving tangible results, and this means they are satisfied with the assistance provided,” said Sergei Kiriyenko.
According to data from the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM), 68 percent of Russian citizens consider themselves well-informed about the activities of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, while 54 percent of respondents trust the foundation’s work. As for veterans of the special military operation, 94.6 percent of respondents are well acquainted with the organisation’s work, and 88 percent of them trust it.
“Such results have been achieved through unique engagement with veterans and family members of the special military operation participants: each applicant is assigned a social coordinator. Across the country, there are 4,000 such coordinators working, including more than a thousand heroes of the special military operation and their relatives, who understand the needs of defenders first-hand,” said State Secretary – Deputy Defence Minister, Chair of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Anna Tsivileva.
The foundation’s range of tasks is constantly expanding. Among the new initiatives are the engagement of active-duty servicemen with disabilities in its work, expanded efforts to assist family members of missing participants in the special military operation, and the introduction of the state information system, Defender of the Fatherland, to make interaction with veterans and family members of participants in the special military operation more effective.
