The Supervisory Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation held its regular meeting.
As First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko pointed out in his remarks, the Popular Front polls show that the provision of assistance to the veterans of the special military operation by social coordinators has improved. “In 2025, the share of veterans who said they had been assigned social coordinators has increased by 11 percent, reaching 87 percent. About 80 percent of the polled veterans assessed the coordinators’ work as consistently good,” he stated.
He also expressed support for the idea of changing the structure of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation’s branches.
“I wholeheartedly support the initiative to open additional branches of the Foundation in the municipalities of three pilot regions – the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics and the Moscow Region. Some veterans live in outlying settlements, villages and towns. In addition, it would be reasonable to set up visiting offices of the Foundation’s branches in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania, so that their staff can travel to the republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to help local veterans of the special military operation. This would help bring social coordinators as close to the veterans and their families as possible,” Sergei Kiriyenko stated.
Deputy Defence Minister and Chair of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Anna Tsivileva spoke about the idea of expanding the range of support the Foundation provides to the veterans of the special military operation who were seriously wounded yet chose to continue serving the country within the framework of the Defence Ministry.
In accordance with that initiative, active military personnel with disabilities will receive special support measures on a par with the retired veterans of the special military operation, including technical means of rehabilitation, such as high-tech prostheses, vehicles with hand controls, adaptive clothing, residential adaptation, supplementary payments through the electronic certificates issued by the Social Fund, and the provision of medical items and medicines.
“The motto of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation is care, respect and justice. These are the key values we are guided by in our activities. The Foundation is helping everyone who has risen in defence of the Motherland, namely volunteers, contract servicemen, members of private military companies, and members of the militias of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. We will continue doing so. We are grateful to everyone who supports us. We are walking side by side with each of you every day within the projects of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, the work of regional teams, and in coordination with the Defence Ministry of Russia,” Anna Tsivileva said.
