Maria Lvova-Belova chaired the second meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Supporting Families with Children and Preventing Social Orphanhood

The second meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Supporting Families with Children and Preventing Social Orphanhood took place at the Presidential Executive Office.

In her opening remarks, Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova said that the working group’s efforts have started to achieve tangible results. It released a model regional plan of events for developing and improving the social safety net for families and preventing social orphanhood. This document covers the period from 2026 to 2030 and has been signed by the ministers of education, labour and social protection, and health. It was also sent to the Russian regions. Its 63 paragraphs address the topic of preserving families in all its key aspects.

The meeting’s agenda also included a performance report by the commission titled Interdepartmental Cooperation for Social Orphanhood Prevention. In addition, there were presentations on this topic by Director of the Department for State Policy on Protecting Children’s Rights at the Ministry of Education Larisa Falkovskaya, Deputy Head of the Division for Enforcement Proceedings at the Federal Bailiff’s Service Dmitry Zheludkov, and Director of the Department for Social Protection and Social Services at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Taras Vasko.

The Interdepartmental Working Group is scheduled to hold its next meeting in August.
