The conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change adopted a package of decisions that essentially form an action plan for concluding a global agreement on reducing the manmade burden on the climate after 2012.
The conference settled, in particular, the question of shared and differentiated responsibility of developing and developed nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The conference approved the establishment of the Green Fund to finance aid initiatives for countries most severely affected by climate change, and also reached an agreement on mechanisms for environmentally-friendly technology transfers to developing countries.
