Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On the Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovative Development under the President of the Russian Federation.
The Council has been established to facilitate economic modernisation and innovative development in Russia and improve state management in this area.
The Executive Order approves the Provision on the Council, its membership, and the membership of its presidium. The President of Russia will chair the Council.
The Executive Order abolishes the Presidential Commission for Economic Modernisation and Technological Development. Earlier executive orders relating to the Commission shall be deemed to have lost force.
The Government has been given two months to bring its regulations into line with the Executive Order.
The Executive Order defines the Council’s main tasks and rights and its working regulations.
Decisions by the Council and its presidium will be formulated as presidential instructions, and the President can issue orders and instructions for the implementation of these decisions.
The Presidential Executive Office will be responsible for the Council’s organisational and technical support.
