Joint meeting of Presidential Commission for the Disabled and Presidential Commission for Veteran Affairs

December 14, 2012

Presidential Aide Tatyana Golikova held a joint meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Disabled and the Presidential Commission for Veteran Affairs. The meeting addressed the draft Strategy for providing medicine for the population until 2025. The draft was developed by the Healthcare Ministry within the framework of the Presidential Executive Order On Improving State Policy in Healthcare of May 7, 2012.

Tatyana Golikova stressed that the Strategy must be aimed at assuring citizens’ rights to medicine provision, first and foremost, for categories of citizens entitled to benefits. According to Ms Golikova, while developing the strategy, it is key to consider the concerns about existing problems in this area submitted by citizens to the Presidential Executive Office and federal executive authorities.

During the meeting, Deputy Healthcare Minister Igor Kagramanyan presented a report outlining the Strategy’s goals, challenges and expected results. Members of the commissions – representatives of public organisations and State Duma deputies – commented on the draft Strategy.

The comments will be forwarded to the Healthcare Ministry.
