Instructions following a meeting of Council for Science and Education

Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions following a meeting of the Council for Science and Education, held on April 30 in the Leningrad Region.

The Presidential Executive Office, in cooperation with the federal bodies of executive power and the Russian Academy of Sciences, have been instructed to submit proposals on the establishment of new centres for collective use of scientific equipment and the creation of unique stands and installations, as well as the allocation of funds from the federal budget to existing centres for collective use.

The instructions to the Government concern, in particular, the improvement of the centres for collective use, financing the creation of research infrastructure for the PIK high-flux research neutron-beam reactor at the B.P. Konstantinov Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute in Gatchina, Leningrad Region, as well as assessing the performance of research organisations.

The instructions also concern Russian scientists’ participation in the research done at the European Southern Observatory and the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences research institutions in providing expert assessment of the private research organisations’ performance.
