Vladimir Putin congratulated Dutch speed skater Jorrit Bergsma, who set a new record with his win in the 10,000 metres race at the XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“You are rightly considered a talented athlete and worthy representative of the famous Dutch speedskating school. You have always worked persistently toward your goals and have achieved notable success at the highest-level competitions.
I am happy that luck is with you at these XXII Winter Olympics in Sochi. With your brilliant performance in the 10,000 metres event you set a new Olympic record. I congratulate you on this victory and wish you all the very best.”
