Magomedsalam Magomedov summed up the results of 2017 and outlined the main areas of work for 2018.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office emphasised the necessity for coordinated actions by government agencies and civil society institutions in preventing politicisation of issues relating to interethnic relations in the run-up to the upcoming Russian presidential election.

Mr Magomedov also stressed the importance of implementing efforts planned for the next year to make adjustments to Russia's National Policy Strategy Through the Year 2025, and noted that in the past five years changes have occurred in interethnic relations and the assessment of new threats, which make clarification of provisions and the introduction of corresponding amendments to the Strategy especially important.

The meeting participants had a discussion on international cooperation as a means to implement the Strategy and gave consideration to youth projects in the sphere of interethnic relations.

Following the discussion, the Council adopted appropriate decisions.
