Vladimir Putin congratulated Yekaterina Rumyantseva on winning the gold medal at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Republic of Korea, in the women’s 6 km biathlon standing sprint and in the women’s 15 km cross-country skiing free, standing.
The message reads, in part:
“Thanks to your tireless work, confidence in your own strength and devotion to a beloved cause, you performed brilliantly at the most important competition in the career of every Paralympic athlete. You showed your fighting spirit and your will to win and took two gold medals – in biathlon and cross-country skiing.
And of course, special words of gratitude to your mentors and coaches, all those who helped you achieve these significant results.”
