Magomedsalam Magomedov and Vitaly Mutko had a meeting at the Moscow House of Nationalities (MHN) with the leadership and Public Council of the MHN, as well as members of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations.
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office and Chairman of the Presidium of the Council for Interethnic Relations Magomedsalam Magomedov and Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Council for Interethnic Relations Vitaly Mutko learned about the infrastructure and work of the Moscow House of Nationalities.
Magomedsalam Magomedov and Vitaly Mutko noted the importance of the MHN's activities and supported the idea of using its experience in the regions of the Russian Federation, taking into account regional features of implementing state ethnic policy.
A House of the Peoples of Russia is to become the main element in a network of such institutions. Its establishment is now being planned in line with the President’s instructions.
Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov said special attention would be paid to this issue.
The Moscow Government set up the Moscow House of Nationalities in 1998. Since then it has become a major cultural and educational centre facilitating the harmonisation of interethnic relations in the capital.
