The St Catherine Hall at the Kremlin hosted a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Policy in the Sphere of Protecting Family and Children to consider the creation of a system for educating the younger generation.
Valentina Matviyenko, the Council’s Chair and Speaker of the Federation Council made introductory remarks at the meeting.
Education Minister Olga Vasilyeva presented a report on implementing the Education Development Strategy in the Russian Federation until 2025.
Council members and invited representatives of executive agencies, public organisations and educational institutions discussed various aspects of educating children and young people.
The Council was established in November 2018 to implement the state policy in the field of family and child protection, to draft proposals to improve this policy and to conduct public control over the realisation of scheduled events during the Childhood Decade.
