Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the 1st FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championships in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“The Russian capital rightly enjoys the honour of hosting the first-ever high-level junior competitions.
This sport is traditionally popular in our country, which has given the world a whole galaxy of famous athletes. Their brilliant achievements today inspire young talents to work on themselves, go forward and win.
These days Moscow has brought together the strongest young gymnasts from different states. Undoubtedly, you are the hope and the future of sport.
I am sure that participation in the championships will pave the way for you to achieve new successes, and your bright and amazing performances will be a worthy contribution to the development of national schools of rhythmic gymnastics.”
