Deputy Minister of Culture Nikolai Ovsiyenko chaired a videoconference meeting of the standing commission for assisting and developing the Cossack culture under the Council for Cossack Affairs.
Over 100 experts took part in the discussion of various events related to Cossack culture that should be included in the implementation of the State Policy Strategy Regarding Russian Cossacks for 2021–2030. Among the experts were members of the Council for Cossack Affairs, representatives of federal and regional bodies of executive authority, state cultural institutions, the All-Russian Cossack Society, Cossack combat societies, other Cossack associations, as well as the Russian Orthodox Church and other organisations.
Participants in the meeting discussed the implementation of the decisions of the council and the standing commission on assisting and developing the Cossack culture.
They also heard reports on the work to establish the Central Museum of Russian Cossacks and the project to create an electronic Cossack library at the Russian State Library.
Relevant instructions were issued following the meeting.
