Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dmitry Kobylkin chaired a meeting of the standing commission of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs on involving Russia’s Cossacks in nature conservation, environmental security and forest protection activities.
The meeting participants summed up the preliminary results of implementing the strategy for developing the state policy on Russia’s Cossacks until 2020, namely, involving Russia’s Cossacks in nature conservation, environmental security and forest protection activities. The participants voiced proposals on improving legislation and expanding cooperation between state agencies and Russia’s Cossacks in this area.
Attending the meeting were members of the Council for Cossack Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Rosprirodnadzor, Rosleskhoz, the All-Russian Cossack Society and the Union of Cossack Warriors of Russia and Abroad.
Relevant instructions were issued based on the results of the meeting.
