May 20, 2021, Krasnodar

Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Presidential Council on Cossack Affairs Anatoly Seryshev took part in reviewing practical studies with the atamans of Cossack military societies and their deputies on the issues of government service, education, and work with young people.

The seminars, organized by the Russian Cossack Society with support from the Krasnodar Territory Administration, were held on May 18–20, 2021.

Participants in the practical studies learned about the experience of Kuban Cossack Military Society in organising the administration and other Russian Cossack services, including the education system with consideration for the historical and cultural traditions of the Kuban Cossacks and the patriotic upbringing of the young generation.

In his speech, Anatoly Seryshev noted the importance of cooperation between public government bodies and Cossack society in implementing the Strategy of the State Policy of the Russian Federation on Russian Cossacks in 2021–2030.

Mr Seryshev emphasised that only a united and active Cossack community can make a tangible contribution to the consolidation of Russian statehood.

The discussion of the results of the practical studies was attended by Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Stanislav Bedkin, Deputy Presidential Envoy to the South Federal District Vladimir Gurba, Ataman of the Russian Cossack Society Nikolai Doluda, and deputy governors from a number of regions in the Russian Federation who supervise government policy on the Cossacks.

The participants adopted various decisions in the wake of the practical studies.
