Presidential Aide Dmitry Mironov chaired an extended meeting of the Presidium of the Council for Cossack Affairs via videoconference.
In his remarks, the presidential aide stressed that time dictates the need for representatives of the Cossack society to play a greater role in meeting security objectives, and instilling patriotic values and love for their Motherland in the younger generation.
Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov and Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Nikolai Doluda reviewed the results of the 2021 action plan implemented as part of the State Policy Strategy on Russian Cossacks for 2021–2030.
Those present discussed ways to improve the state policy on Russian Cossacks, who have been actively involved in the systematic work to provide humanitarian assistance to residents of certain regions of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine affected by the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Education Denis Gribov named the winners of the 2022 Best Cossack Cadet Corps annual review contest and spoke about the measures to develop Cossack cadet education in the Trans-Baikal, Krasnoyarsk, Stavropol and Khabarovsk territories, Irkutsk, Omsk and Orenburg regions.
The participants discussed preparations for the 3rd Nationwide Conference of Cossack Youth and reviewed the activities of the Association of Cossack Universities (an association of institutions of higher learning that deliver educational programmes based on Russian Cossacks’ historical and traditional values); the implementation of the Council for Cossack Affairs’ media plan for 2022; and the progress made in establishing the Central Museum of Russian Cossacks.
Letters of commendation and gratitude were awarded to the volunteers and teams that provided significant support for the Council’s work. The Council's Award will also be presented to Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation for assistance to Cossack organisations.
Following the discussion, the Council adopted relevant decisions.
