Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, Chairman of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations Magomedsalam Magomedov attended the National Forum of Finno-Ugric Peoples, Finno-Ugric Youth in a Changing World: Realities and Challenges.
Opening the event, Magomedsalam Magomedov read out the President’s message of greetings to the participants of the forum and the convention of the Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples national public movement.
In his address, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office noted that, despite the activity of foreign forces who, speculating on the theme of the Finno-Ugric world, attempt to sow discord and undermine the unity of Russia, the situation in the sphere of interethnic relations remains stable and under control. According to Magomedsalam Magomedov, sociological surveys indicate a high level of all-Russian civic identity and positive relations among representatives of different nationalities.
The Chairman of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations highlighted the importance of unity between the state and society in countering destructive forces.
Magomedsalam Magomedov also noted the significant contribution of the Association of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation to addressing issues of state national policy, as well as its active involvement in the work of the Presidential Council on Interethnic Relations, and expressed gratitude to the organisation’s activists for their initiatives to strengthen interethnic concord and unity in Russia.
As part of his working trip, Magomedsalam Magomedov held a meeting with Head of the Mari El Republic Yury Zaitsev, and Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, to discuss socioeconomic development and interethnic relations in the republic.
