Executive order on establishing national accreditation system

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Unified National Accreditation System.

The Executive Order is aimed to improve the state governance efficiency in accreditation.

Under the Executive Order, a Federal Accreditation Service is to be established and charged with functions of shaping a unified national accreditation system and supervising the activities of the accredited parties.

The Executive Order stipulates that the Federal Accreditation Service is to be administered by the Ministry of Economic Development which will be responsible for drafting and implementing the state policy and for enforcing relevant laws and regulations in accreditation.

The Government of Russia has been instructed to ensure establishment of the Federal Accreditation Service.

The Executive Order shall be effective upon its official publication.
