The President instructed the Government to establish personal stipends bearing the name of Alexander Solzhenitsyn for Russian university students starting from 2009.
A recommendation has been made to the Moscow City Government to name one of Moscow’s streets after the writer, and a recommendation has been made to the authorities in Stavropol and Rostov Regions to take measures to immortalise Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s name in the cities of Kislovodsk and Rostov-on-Don.
