Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Invanov reported to Dmitry Medvedev on the progress in implementing presidential instructions on the liability of state officials for failure to fulfil the state defence order.
The instructions were issued during a meeting on Russia’s defence industry development, which was held on May 10, 2011.
The Government and Government Commission for Defence Industry have on several occasions raised the issue of increasing the accountability of officials for the implementation of the state defence order, including for the relevant supplies. As a result, a number of personnel decisions have been adopted.
In accordance with the instructions issued by the President of Russia, disciplinary measures have been taken against the executives at enterprises and organisations responsible for the failure to supply arms and military equipment in 2010.
A number of Defence Ministry officials in charge of arms orders have been discharged from military service for the shortfalls in deliveries of arms and military equipment.
The adopted personnel decisions regarding defence industry executives and Defence Ministry officials responsible for the failure to implement the 2010 state defence order are sufficient to improve both performance discipline and personal responsibility, as well as to prevent future violations of the delivery terms of goods to the customer.
