Together with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, the President of Russia is participating in Russian-German interstate consultations and the Petersburg Dialogue Russian-German public forum.
The main events of the visit to Germany are planned for Tuesday, July 19. Today, Dmitry Medvedev and Angela Merkel met for a working dinner.
It is expected that during the talks the President of Russia and the Federal Chancellor of Germany will discuss issues of European security, the creation of a missile defence system in Europe, the operation of the Russia-NATO Council and the development of relations between Russia and the European Union. In addition, the leaders are to look into expanding Russian gas supplies with the activation of Nord Stream’s capacities.
A package of documents has been prepared for signing based on the outcomes of interstate consultations, including on cooperation in the legal sphere, financial and economic sectors, as well as in science and high technologies.
