The Russian Orthodox Church plays a major role in bringing people together around common spiritual values. Today, in close cooperation with other faiths, community organisations and the government, it is doing much to strengthen civil accord and moral principles, support the institution of family, protect motherhood and childhood, and educate young people in the spirit of patriotism and respect.
