The President said in particular in his message:

“The development of the machine-building sector is in many ways decisive for the pace and quality of industrial growth and it has an impact on the state of infrastructure and on strengthening the country’s defence capability. The sector’s stable work is crucial for the successful implementation of the country’s long-term development goals and for raising living standards. The machine-building industry also provides an important resource for innovative development of the national economy and is a key part of Russia’s status as a global technological power. In this respect, it is particularly important to modernise enterprises, increase labour productivity, attract new investment and train qualified engineers and workers.

I am sure that diversification of Russia’s machine-building industry will encourage growth in a whole number of high-technology sectors, contribute to the production of competitive science-intensive products, and strengthen Russian producers’ positions on foreign markets”.
