July 9 has been declared a day of mourning in Russia

July 8, 2012

Vladimir Putin issued an executive order declaring July 9 a national day of mourning in Russia following the many deaths caused by the tragic events in Krasnodar Territory and the road accident involving a Russian bus in Ukraine.

In accordance with the Executive Order, state flags will be lowered throughout Russia and in Russian diplomatic missions abroad on July 9, 2012 and cultural institutions and state television channels are recommended to refrain from showing entertainment programmes.
