August 30, 2012, Moscow

Vladimir Putin visited the newly opened Novokosino Moscow Metro station.

Vladimir Putin met with the metro builders and was briefed about the Moscow Metro development plans through 2020.

The President remarked on the importance of the new station and the development of the metro network to resolve the traffic problem in the Moscow metropolitan area. It is planned to commission 70 metro stations by 2020.

Novokosino became the 186th station of the Moscow Metro. Its construction began in 2008, and the length of tracks between Novogireyevo and Novokosino is over 3.5 kilometres. The opening of the new station will improve access to Moscow districts of Novokosino, Kosino-Ukhtomsky and the Moscow satellite town of Reutov.
