Vladimir Putin and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon both noted the high level of Russian-Tajikistani bilateral relations and expressed hope for their further development.
A Joint Declaration was adopted following the talks. The two Presidents confirmed their desire to deepen the political dialogue and outlined ways to continue developing the two countries’ ties. In particular, the document notes the mutual interest in expanding economic and humanitarian cooperation and improving the legal framework for bilateral relations.
The two Presidents also oversaw the signing of a package of agreements on developing military cooperation, preventing drug trafficking, and cooperation in the energy sector and on migration policy.
