This is a project of the Russian Comstar – United Telesystems company.
The network of wireless broadband access based on WiMAX technology will cover Yerevan and the 18 largest cities in Armenia.
The establishment of this new network in Armenia is expected to resolve the problem of the availability of telecommunication services to the public, government and business.
Presently fixed line services are available for 30 percent of the Armenian population while the Internet is available for seven percent.
