Trip to St Petersburg

Vladimir Putin took part in a working lunch with International Olympic Committee members at SportAccord International Convention. The President also viewed the Olympic and Paralympic medals that will be awarded at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

The set of prize medals traditionally includes bronze, silver and gold ones. Depending on the achievement, Sochi 2014 Olympic medals weigh between 460 and 531 grams, while the Paralympic ones vary between 585 and 686 grams. Mr Putin also looked at a model of the Olympic torch.

Later, Vladimir Putin met with IOC President Jacques Rogge.

The President also visited St Petersburg children’s and youth sports school No. 2. Vladimir Putin met with his judo coach Anatoly Rakhlin, who turned 75 this year.

Mr Putin had a look at the school’s facilities equipped with modern exercise equipment, and also watched student performances.
