The President signed the Federal Law On Amending the Federal Law on the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law changes the formation procedures for the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation with the aim of increasing the quality of representation by civil society institutions, making its formation procedures more democratic via direct voting by citizens and broadening participation by regional social structures.
The Federal Law stipulates that the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation is to be made up of 40 citizens of the Russian Federation, approved by the President, 83 representatives from regional civic chambers of the Russian Federation and 43 representatives from national public associations.
