“I send my warmest greetings to all participants in this ceremony conferring the name of First President of Russia Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin on the Urals State Technical University”, Mr Medvedev said in his telegram. “His life was closely tied to your university. Not only did he study there and learn one of the most creative professions, but the productive atmosphere at the university and its active public life played a very influential part in shaping Boris Nikolayevich’s unique personality and developing his great sense of responsibility and civic spirit. He was always proud of his university and valued the contribution its graduates have made to science and industry in our country.

I am sure that today’s students and teachers at this university that now bears the name of Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin will continue to maintain these high standards and will lovingly preserve and build on the rich traditions of this influential and important education centre”.
