The Department of Internal Affairs of St Petersburg's Nevsky District is connected to the unified information and telecommunications systems of Russia's Internal Affairs, which allows employees in the police to instantly receive information in specialized databases, hold video conferences, and conduct training programmes for employees.

New telecommunications systems will facilitate the work of the department's centre to monitor safety and security throughout the city.
