Vladimir Putin visited the US and Canada’s team fans houses at the Olympic Park in Sochi, where he spoke with the athletes and representatives of the national Olympic committees.
During the conversation at the USA House, President of the US Olympic Committee Scott Blackmun and IOC member Larry Probst noted the high level of organisation at the Sochi Olympic Games, thanked volunteers involved in the Games for their work, and wished the Russian national team good luck in the competitions.
Later, Vladimir Putin visited the Canada House at the Olympic Park, where he welcomed Canadian athletes and fans and expressed hope that the Russian and Canadian national hockey teams would meet in the finals of the 2014 Olympics.
In turn, President of the Canadian Olympic Committee Marcel Aubut called the Games “fantastic” and expressed delight at the atmosphere reigning at these Olympics.
