To further improve state policy concerning physical culture and sports, and to create an effective system of physical education aimed at the development of human potential and improving the health of the public, the President resolved to implement the Russian national Ready for Labour and Defence health and fitness programme in Russia starting on September 1, 2014, which will serve as a programme and regulatory framework for public physical education.

Relevant instructions have been given to the Government of the Russian Federation, executive regional authorities and the Sports Ministry.
