Celebrating Victory Day and the 70th anniversary of Sevastopol’s liberation

Vladimir Putin took part in celebrations marking the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 70th anniversary of Sevastopol’s liberation from the Nazis.

The President greeted Black Sea Fleet ships in Sevastopol Bay, from a motorboat inspected the ships and congratulated the crews on Victory Day. Mr Putin also watched the air parade.

Mr Putin then laid a wreath at the Memorial to Heroic Defenders of Sevastopol in 1941–1942 and spoke with veterans.

In the evening, the President attended a gala concert to mark the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and 70th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol from Nazis.
