The message reads, in particular:

”Ensuring global energy security is of particular importance in today's world. And as a major producer and supplier of natural gas Russia plays a pivotal role in this regard.

Ongoing, steady work in the domestic energy industry, the development of rich deposits in Siberia, the Far East and the continental shelf, all help the country's economy, bring gas supplies to the regions, and accomplish priority social tasks. And the expansion of gas pipeline infrastructure and implementation of ambitious projects such as North Stream and South Stream will contribute to the diversification of Russian gas exports.“

The forum will discuss current trends, Russia's role in global energy, a new phase of the Russia – EU energy dialogue, the development of international cooperation in the gas sector, and the development prospects of Russia's gas industry.
