Dmitry Medvedev signed six laws on ratifying agreements regarding the formation of a Customs Union

December 23, 2008

The agreements establish a method for the formation and administration of a single customs tariff and a procedure for determining customs values for goods. Unified measures are being put into place for non-tariff regulation of foreign economic activity for member-states of the Customs Union in relation to non-member countries. Unified standards are being put into place to identify the goods’ country of origin. There is a unification of inventories for goods which are subject to export customs tariffs in trade with non-member countries. Special anti-dumping and compensatory measures are being taken in regard to non-member countries.

All six agreements were signed in Moscow on January 25, 2008, by the prime ministers of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
