President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, energy, aviation, space, innovation and culture.

President Putin said he was satisfied that the leadership of the two countries had managed to solve the problem of Ukraine’s debts for Russian gas, and expressed confidence that the issue would no longer be a cause of discord between the fraternal states.
