Mr Putin called for the development of ties between the Russian and Greek Parliaments. Speaking before members of the Greek parliament, he said the traditions of Russian parliamentarism were not as deep and long-standing, but in the period of cardinal change in Russia its Parliament played an enormous role as a legislature.
Mr Kaklamanis presented a souvenir gold medal of the Greek Parliament to Mr Putin.
