The President signed a decree directing the Foreign Ministry to prepare proposals to improve legislation regarding relations with compatriots living abroad and to provide foreign policy and international legal support for Russia’s activities in protecting the rights, legitimate interests and assistance to countrymen living abroad.
The Ministry will also coordinate the international activities of the federal and regional government bodies with regard to the compatriots living abroad and support the activities of the Government Commission on Compatriots Abroad.
