President Putin expressed hope that the recent meeting with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder would be an important step in developing multi-faceted cooperation between Russia and Germany, and Russia and Europe.
The President confirmed his invitation for Mr Schroeder to visit St Petersburg to attend the events marking the city’s 300th anniversary.
