The Presidents signed a joint statement instructing their countries’ governments to quickly prepare a Russian-Ukrainian agreement on strategic cooperation in the gas sector. The statement provides, among other things, for the establishment a consortium for managing and developing Ukraine’s gas transportation system on a parity basis. The consortium members will jointly determine the terms and conditions of their participation in the consortium on a consensus basis.
After the talks, the two Presidents had a stroll around St Petersburg and then went for dinner to the Angleter Hotel’s restaurant.
